How to Prepare for a BB Glow Appointment

If this is your first time receiving a BB Glow treatment, you may be wondering if there’s anything you need to do before your appointment. Like most skincare treatments, there are a few things you may want to consider up to two weeks before your appointment. Let’s dive into BB Glow and make sure you’re prepared for your treatment!

What is BB Glow?

BB Glow is a semi-permanent facial treatment that simulates the effects of BB cream. The combination of microneedling and semi-permanent makeup will improve the tone and texture of the skin while targeting a number of skin issues. BB Glow provides a brightening effect that will even the skin tone by increasing the production of collagen and elastin.

Who is a Good Candidate for BB Glow?

You may be a good candidate for BB Glow if you have the following:

  • Dull, dehydrated skin
  • Large pores
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne scars
  • Discoloration or hyperpigmentation
  • Redness, freckles, age spots, dark undereye circles
  • A desire to even the skin tone

What is the BB Glow Pre-Treatment?

BB Glow is a painless procedure that only takes about 1.5 hours to perform. While the treatment is non-invasive, there are some important things to consider leading up to your appointment.

6 Months Before:

  • No Accutane or similar medicines
  • If you take blood thinners or acne medications, consult a doctor and see if it’s safe to discontinue use.

2 Weeks Before:

  • No fillers or injectables
  • No Retin-A, Retino, or Vitamin A products or applications

24 Hours Before:

  • No autoimmune therapies
  • No prolonged sun exposure or tanning

Day of Treatment:

  • No skincare products
  • No makeup

Before your BB Glow appointment, your technician will provide a consultation. It’s crucial that you notify them of any skin or health concerns, treatments you’ve recently received, or any medications you are on. If you don’t have a full and honest consultation with your technician, the results may not be ideal or you could experience a negative reaction. Ultimately, your technician will determine if you are a good candidate to receive BB Glow or not.
